This article presents a new hotel service proposed by the Novotal London : a MP3 London walking tours which offer the opportunity for the guest to downloaod his visit and receive a map of the city. The cost is 7 £.
My Opinion
Personnaly I believe that this kind of new "technological" services will be developped and made trite in the hotel. The client is now looking for electronical service (as he has become dependent on the new technologies in his daily life) and the hotels have already start the battle of this type of amenities.

Article selected : Galileo launches multi-currency rate distribution for hotels, 04.12.06

This text presents the new Galileo system : "multi-currency rate capabilities" which provides to the hotels using the Galileo GDS (Global Distribution System) the capacity to convert rates in a number of differents currencies.
My Opinion
I think that is a really relevant and interesting new system of reservation : it encorages the tourism in developing countries which have most of the time their own money. Furthermore, this system remind us that there are no just the US Dollar or Euro money in the world and the currency of a country can be part of its identity and its national heritage.

Article selected : Hotel amenities that stick

This article focus on the evolution of hotel's amenities : infact, today guests are looking for new complimentary services or in-room amenities and so it has become a challenge for hoteliers.
For my part, this is probably due to the competition : each hotel wants to be unique, different & innovating and it's also linked with the wave of design or concept hotel were immoderation is a key point.
Even if it could be dangerous to modified some pillar of hotels amenities, I think clients are a little bit fulled up of classic service and want to be surprised.
Such eg of new amenities or services : customized wake-up calls, pillow menu option, guestroom goldfish, E-Butler Service
